What to do in your 3rd Trimester

Congrats on making it to your third trimester. You’re almost at the finish line !! This is the final phase of bringing that little bundle of joy in your tummy. Lets jump right into seven things you should be doing in your third trimester.

1.Clean and organizing

Your third trimester is the best time to start getting your little bundle of joy room up and ready. Like for example putting the crib up, organizing his/her closet, cleaning the house and dusting down the furniture and so on. You want to make sure that  your bringing the  baby home into a clean environment. Better yet you might want to have your spouse doing all the lifting and dusting seeing that you’re in your third trimester .

2.Hospital Tour

It’s really important to check out the hospital that you’ll be delivering your baby and staying for a few days. You need to know things like, will the baby be staying with you the whole time, how many visitors are allowed at the same time and what time is visiting hours. All these little questions are important. Try to also pick a hospital that isn’t too far from home. My spouse and I did our hospital tour in my third trimester and we loved the hospital. The information they provided and just being able to see where we’d be staying was a good experience.

3.Baby Shower

There’s no better time to have your baby shower other than now. It’s time to have fun and make memories. Once you’ve had your baby shower, you’ll be able to check off the things you’ve got and start buying the things that you still need.

4.Baby Clothes

I’m not sure if everyone does this but I would hope so. Please wash your baby clothes before putting them on your baby. We have no idea if they’ve been on the floor or if the person packing them had clean hands. Baby skins are normally sensitive and you wouldn’t want to irritate a newborn skin so early with a rash. Best time to start washing is in the early part of your third trimester. For my boys I used “Newborn detergent ” and most I say it’s pretty good.

5.Packing your hospital bag

Let’s be honest at this moment anything is possible in your third trimester. You want to have your bag packed and ready to go incase of an emergency. You don’t want to leave packing for the last minute. Next thing you know you have to rush out and your bag isn’t packed. Lol plus we really don’t want to leave packing up to dad. You might have to send him back a few times or stay on the phone just to make sure he packs the right things. I’ll make a post on things to put in your hospital bag.

6.Maternity Leave

If you’re still working it’s time to figure out when you’d like to take your maternity leave. There’s a few paper works to be filled out by your job and also yourself. The sooner you get this the better, you want to make sure you’re getting paid and still have a job to go back to once your leave is up. I turned in my maternity leave paperwork in the middle part of my third trimester.

7.Pediatricians

It’s best if you start looking into finding a pediatrician for your baby a week or two before giving birth. Or at least having an idea of where you’d like to go. If this is your second child then its best to have both children seeing the same doctor, less work for you. It’s also fine not to start looking in your third trimester. If you rather wait until the baby gets here that’s also fine.

Please rest, it’s really important. You won’t really have much time to do so once your little one has arrived. Also take lots of pictures and videos of your baby shower, looking back at it will put a smile on your face. Once again god bless and safe delivery. feel free to share, repost, pin and follow on Pinterest.
